Appearing in the 1967 adventure set in Japan, the Toyota 2000GT quickly became a symbol of Japanese engineering and style. For the film, Toyota created two special open-top versions of the 2000GT exclusively for production, transforming the original coupe into a unique roadster for on-screen use. In the movie, the white 2000GT is driven by Japanese agent Aki, who repeatedly comes to Bond’s aid in Tokyo. One of the most memorable moments sees Aki racing through the city and out into the countryside with Bond as her passenger, while a helicopter equipped with a giant magnet removes their pursuers’ car from the road and drops it into the sea.
